
The Southern Cross Company is a health care group dedicated to providing the best care homes for the elderly through out the United Kingdom. The company was floated on the stock market in 2006 and entered the FTS250 index two months later.
Further expansion with the acquisition of the Ashbourne group of homes earlier last year which has allowed the Southern Cross to grow organically and serve as a platform from which to grow via further such acquisitions.
As at 29 March 2009, Southern Cross have a total of 734 care homes and approximately 37,600 available beds and employ 41,000 people through their three brands; Southern Cross Healthcare, Ashbourne Senior Living and Active Care Partnerships.
